About Us

Advanced Air Traffic Systems (M) Sdn. Bhd. (AAT) is a Malaysian company established in 1994 with the main objective of developing local capabilities in maintenance and integrated logistic support services for CNS/ATM systems. The company was founded as a result of the Malaysian Air Traffic Service Modernisation Program (MATSMP), spearheaded by the Department of Civil Aviation. AAT collaborated with Alenia SpA (currently known as Leonardo SpA) to comply with the mandatory Transfer of Technology (ToT) requirement.

System Operational Availability (SOA)

Since then, AAT has become the only local company certified by Leonardo SpA and has developed expertise in Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO), System Integration and Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) for CNS/ATM systems in Malaysia and the region. The company has successfully achieved a Key Performance Indicator (KPI) of 99.95% System Operational Availability (SOA) for the maintenance of Malaysia Air Traffic Control and Air Traffic Surveillance Systems.

AAT has developed 200 competent CNS/ATM engineers including 40 specialists who comply with CAAM operational requirements and ICAO guidelines. AAT is committed to providing MRO services as its core business and is continuously seeking to improve its technical capability and skillsets to support the Government of Malaysia towards Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0) journey.

The company is embarking on Research & Development (R&D) and Commercialisation programs to develop a Scientific Engineering Community, capitalizing on internal capabilities to generate new ideas that can improve Air Traffic services in the country (or even in the region) and generate new revenue streams for the company in a sustainable manner. AAT is proud to be a part of Malaysia’s aviation industry and looks forward to continuing to provide high-quality services to its customers.

Dato' Zolkipli Abdul

Chairman

Dato’ Zolkipli is a Fellow of Chartered Institute of Transport, Malaysia and has a Master of Arts in Strategic Studies from University of Iowa, USA and attended Harvard Negotiating Group and Kenichi Ohma Portfolio courses

He was a former Director General of Civil Aviation (1987 – 1992) as well as the Chairman of ASEAN Sub – Committee on Aviation (1989). He was also a former Director of IAMTI (International Aviation Management Training Institute) Montreal Canada (1991 – 1992), the Alternate Director of Malaysia Airlines (1987 – 1992), former Chairman of Jaks Resources (2008 – 2010), University Kuala Lumpur and University Sultan Zainal Abidin (2004 – 2013), and a former member Board of Advisors for Higher Education Leadership Academy (AKEPT).

Dato’ Zolkipli has been Chairman of the Board of Advanced Air Traffic Systems (M) Sdn Bhd since January 2007.
