Advanced Air Traffic Systems (M) Sdn Bhd or “AAT” is a local Bumiputera status company, a smart partnership between two Malaysian companies, Tirai Variasi Sdn Bhd and Tahap Harmoni Sdn Bhd with Leonardo S.p.A. (formerly known as Finmeccanica S.p.A.) of Italy as a shareholder.
AAT was established on 30 April 1994 with a prime objective to develop in-country capability in the maintenance and integrated logistic support services for Air Traffic Control (ATC) radar and systems especially those manufactured and supplied by Leornado S.p.A. AAT also market and supply related Air Traffic Management (ATM) systems and equipment like airport Navigational Aids (NAVAIDS) equipment and Communication systems.
AAT currently has an authorized capital of RM10,000,000.00 and Paid Up Capital of RM10,000,000.00. After undergoing continuous, progressive and systematic transfer of technology (TOT) program from Leonardo S.p.A. since 1996, AAT is currently the only company capable and certified qualified by Leonardo S.p.A. to carry out maintenance services and to provide integrated logistics support to all Leonardo ATC radar and systems operating in Malaysia and the Asia-Pacific region.
Keeping abreast with the advancement in ATM technology, AAT will continue to acquire new technology from Partner, Leonardo S.p.A. AAT is now a successful local and regional player and provider of world-class engineering maintenance and integrated logistics support services to high technology ATM systems. With her experienced, skilled and competent workforce AAT has now emerged as a credible ATM systems integrator for Malaysia and other countries in Asia Pacific.
Despite strong collaboration with the prime technology partner, AAT increased involvement in key government project implementations warrants for AAT to collaborate with other technology providers. This was evident during the KLIA 2 projects implementation under MAHB where AAT collaborated with few technology providers like Indra Navia, ISO, ERA, Lee Dickens and Frequentis to deliver value added services to the government. This trend will continue into the future where AAT will be involved in the implementations of more complex systems.
AAT shall acquire other systems to focus on strategic projects and penetrate value chain in the air traffic industry. Hence, it requires establishment of partnership with other technology partners to deliver the value added services to comply specific customers’ requirement. AAT has experienced to lead the strategic projects and involvement from original equipment manufacturer (OEM) as technology partners to deliver the value added services of the projects. AAT aspires to be a CNS-ATM technology hub therefore the TOT shall be recognized to sustain its credibility as ATM systems integrator in the region.
