SINCE its establishment, TOT processes have been accomplished involving AAT and its technology partner, Alenia S.P.A (currently known as Leonardo) based in Italy, who is also the supplier and OEM for Malaysia’s MATSMP ATC System.
During the early stage, the main focus of TOT was on the acquisition of maintenance and logistics support capability of radar system, which is in line with AAT core business – to maintain and integrate logistics support services for ATM systems.
The TOT program, which is under the government’s MATSMP project, is a continuous process in order to keep up with the advancement in radar and ATC system technology. Therefore, relevant trainings for AAT technical staffs will be provided to keep them on their toes, as new radar systems are introduced in the country.
behalf of OEM, AAT technical personnel’s skills will be utilized through the TOT for the performance of warranty maintenance of the new MATSMP ATC radar and systems. Since 15 September 1994, AAT has been representing Leonardo, responsible in the warranty maintenance work when Subang Interim ATC system achieved its operational status. This was subsequently followed by other responsibilities which included radar and ATC systems under MATSMP in Genting, Johore, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching and Subang ATCC in stages, as they started to operate. As new radar systems are being introduced and added into the DCA inventory by OEM, Leonardo, AAT skilled technical personnel continue to provide warranty maintenance to the new systems on behalf of the OEM..
