The MIP2 Project involved upgrading of Subang, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching ATCC system. The upgrade involved updating technology related to air traffic management operations that included improving the software that drives the processes of the system at the respective ATCCs. This included upgrading of the old proprietary Selex MARA system with commercially of the shelf (COTS) computers to improve technical capabilities, response time and providing solution to equipment obsolescence.
The project also introduced new human machine interface (HMI) apabilities and the upgrading of the flight Data Processor (FDP).
The MIP2 was successfully completed end of 2011. The system undergone normal debugging processes during the two years warranty period to stabilize the new upgraded software. The ATCC system is now fully operational and is functioning satisfactorily.
